anime recommendations
be sure to include genre and maybe a short description
Nichijou - slice of life/comedy, has really fucking whacky humor, excellent animation. focuses on the lives of mainly 3 schoolgirls, an 8 year old and her robot sister. famously has absolutely zero fanservice (ie all the girls are flatchested and innocent for the most part) but will occasionally bring up/imply the topic of sex. 8/10, about.

Re: anime recommendations
Anyway, in regards to reccomendations.
My two favourite anime are Serial Experiments Lain and 5 Centimetres per Second.
Lain is very abstract and hard to explain, it's kind of up to the viewer to pull their own interpretation from it, it's my absolute favourite though.
5 Centimetres Per Second is a depressing anime, it deals with a boy who is never able to let go of his child-hood romance.
Sounds clichéd as fuck, yes. It's amazing though, deals with the concept very well. The art is also amazing.
