roblox on /v/

Good god, I could rant for ages about them. I've lurked both since '08 through around '10, and its quality has degraded into the absolute worst shitfest ever.

It's just /b/, except with accounts, and you have to be kid-friendly. There is no topic, ever, and when it is, it's about another member or some shit. It's just the community passive-aggressively jerking itself off and trying their damnedest to 'troll' each other.
Compared to 4chan, it's such an unbelievably limited interface that looking at it NOW makes me sick.
Identity on those forums gets in the way of discussion of anything. It's all about 'mah 2k post!' '@f4gg0t' 'Hay boiz I'm a grl ;D'; it doesn't provide any sustenance, any content.

Hell, even /b/ at least provides enjoyable porn and heated discussions about religion. /v/ talks about videogames and exports 67% of the world's rage. But the Roblox forums?

It SHOULD HAVE BEEN the best way to get kids into programming languages and building their own shit with their own hands from scratch
But no, the demographic went sub 10 years old and everyone but like 2 people made places out of Public Domain models

I have had a presence on those forums for years, and I may safely say that they are shit without content.

It's everything wrong with internet discussion. Absolutely everything. Hell, comments on hats and things are even worse than YouTube comments. It wouldn't seem possible but it truly, truly is. Every hat has the exact same comments - just - just every single one; the exact same, bactereel messages, perpetuated by actual people in vain hope they'll get something out of it.

I-I can't even list any more things that are wrong. And almost half of my nearly 5k posts on there are unbelievably long rants.

I think my hope in Roblox is dead. Oh, god.

I met another kid who played roblox. He also played runescape and some other games I played, and he was a /b/ user. Said he was considering killing himself for stealing like 200$ worth of shit from a wal-mart or something. He also told me he posted on robloxhq, although I only posted in the first 9 or so months and he posted during the boards ends. We were in a clinic for self-harm, and ironically I think robloxhq shut down because somebody killed themselves. I browsed some of the offshoot boards and there were a handful of people tossing the idea around. Looks like everybody who frequented rhq wants to kill themselves.

Man, I fucking hate this game. Sorry for the rant, but I have to rant.

My brother is obsessed with this game. He was a normal kid until he started playing this and that fucking pointless Club Penguin game. It was to the point he started to make OC characters based on those fulgy avatars and get mad at the slightest disagreement on whether Roblox was a good game.

Now he never socializes and is a shitstain when we play games together. It's always, "LOL CAKE IZ A LIE" "OVER 9000" and shit. He never says "Hi" to me anymore.

I just wished that fucking retarded autist game would just fucking die already. PC mater race indeed. Fuck that game.

Used to play roblox way the fuck back when
actually went back with a friend about a month ago to see what hell it had fallen into, was not suprised in any way
It's entirely children, literal children just weaning into the internet, picking up tablescrap memes and such, just let them learn, they'll grow out of it, for better or for worse
that being said it's amazingly wasted potential, with open lua script capability and all, they're few and far between, but occasinoally you'll find a place made by a neckbeard and not a child, and beleive me you WILL know when you do.

So, I got in from college the other day to find my 11 year old sister, sat at the family computer, playing some curious looking vidya.

She proceeds to go into the world editor mode and shows me what's what, it all looks pretty in depth. They give you lego styled blocks to build and make levels with, the ability to use Lua scripts, put in custom meshes etc etc.

She then shows me the 'most popular games' page. With the likes of 'SuRvIvE tHe AWSHUM ZoMbIeS' and 'FEED THE HUNGRY NOOB'.
I then realise that this game has possibly the worst online community I've ever seen. It's like they took all of the awful internet sub-cultures and crammed them into one big online community, essentially ruining the game.

It's a true shame, this game could have been fun with the right kind of community.

I used to play roblox until I realized HOLY SHIT THAT FUCKING AUTISTIC COMMUNITY. I got moderately "famous" too. I was Superducky, if you remember any of my shitty games. And for those saying it's a game for 11-year-olds, there's definitely options in there for the older crowd. Lua Scripting, Playing the currency market, all that stuff.

But dear god that community.
